Over the years, 1995 - 2000
1995-1996
Selwyn Chan, an Australian Chinese and a founding member was the 6th President of the Club. Selwyn is a Chartered Structural Engineer. Under his leadership the Club successfully undertook several ambitious and notable community and international service projects such as the Wanchal Carnival and the Pasay Soup Kitchen in the Philippines. Locally, the Club sponsored the St. Joseph's Home for the Aged and Wanchai Rotarian, Terry Chik who is a dental surgeon provided free dental service to elderly residents.
1996-1997
The 7th President was Mauritius-born Joseph Chan who runs his own interior design and contracting company. During the year, the Club participated in many District events and received District Awards in International Service, Community Service and Presidential Citation.
1997-1998
Michael Chang was 8th President for this politically significant year (the handover of Hong Kong). He is also one of the founding members of the Club. Michael is an
Architect. This year, the Club started its relationship with the Open University by sponsoring its Bursary Fund to provide opportunities for prison inmates to take up higher education. During the year, funding also went to Hong Kong Women Workers Association to provide job training for the unemployed; the Hans Anderson Club for helping financially deprived children in the Diamond Hill squatter area; and the St. James' Settlement for providing service to young recent immigrants from the mainland.
1998-1999
Olga Parry and Sharon Yu shared the year as Presidents. The largest contribution this year ($100,000) went to the Guizhou School Restoration Project. Locally, the Club sponsored several worthy service organizations including the Heep Hong Society for Handicapped Children, Hong Kong Society for the Deaf, Hong Kong Society for the Blind and the Christian Concern for the Homeless Association.
1999-2000
Sharon Yu continued with her tenure as President taking the Club through the new millennium. Much work was done on disaster relief including donations to the earthquakes in Turkey and then Taiwan in 1999 and flood in Mozambique in 2000.
